Hello everyone! I've important matters to address:
1) CO JACKET MONEY
We're going to send in our orders for the CO jacket already! (:
If you've ordered the CO jacket, please pass $30 to your SLs and confirm your size! SLs have to pass the
money and the confirmed quantity of each size to our treasurer Jeslyn (liuqin) by Friday (29/8), before 7.25am. We want to send in our order as soon as possible, but we need at least 50% deposit in order to do so.
If any section is unable to collect the money by Friday, the
deadline is
Thursday, 4 Sept (holiday practice), during lunchtime. If you fail to hand in the money by then, you may not receive your jacket.
Once again, we seek your cooperation so that we can get our jacket sooner!
2) MAF
As you all know, NYCO will be taking part in MAF celebrations (organised by HCICO) this year! This is a
compulsory event for
all NYCO members, and consent forms have been given out. Absence will have to be explained with a letter from your parent.
Details are as follows:
Date: 3 Sept (Wed)
Time: 8.30am to 7pm (lunch provided)
Venue: HCI (High School Section)
Attire: School-related T-shirt, bermudas (preferably dark colours).
FBTS, SHORTS AND ANYTHING ABOVE MID-THIGH ARE NOT ALLOWED.Remember to bring:
- Instrument (except double bass, di yin sheng, percussion and yangqin)
- Scores for 《瑶族舞曲》and《家》
- An extra set of clothes as there will be water games
We will be playing 《瑶族舞曲》and《家》with HCICO, conducted by both COs' student conductors, Queenie and Yan Liang respectively. There will also be games and our "traditional" water bomb war! :D

CO Jacket PrinterTo comply with the school management's policy, I've asked 3 different suppliers to quote a price for our CO jacket (I gave the same details to all 3). I believe the CO should be informed of the exact numbers and from there you can make a choice:
Supplier A:
Has made many of Nanyang's CCA jackets (e.g. made String Ensemble jacket)
High quality and good service
$30/pc
Waiting time: 3-4 weeks
Sample piece: With 50% deposit
Supplier B:
Experienced in making jackets of sports material with embroidery (e.g. made English Language Publication Society jacket)
Average quality, service standard unknown (they're quick to reply any enquiries though)
$25/pc
Waiting time: Unknown
Sample piece: Unknown
Supplier C:
Experience in silk screen printing, has done many shirts. Standard of jackets made unknown (will ask for sample)
Good quality, efficient, caters mainly to students
$23/pc (100% cotton twill)
$20/pc (micro-fibre = nylon + polyester)
Waiting time: 45 days
Sample piece: With 50% deposit by cheque
Personally I would recommend A or C, but please make yourself heard if you're unhappy with the prices. Bear in mind though, we'll have to compromise either quality or cost.
